How to Make Chocolate Lollipop Supplies

Since there are two different methods to make these easy treats, we’re gonna give you all types of supplies that you can choose from so you can decide on how you want to make your chocolate lollipops.

Lollipop Silicone Mold

If you get a lollipop chocolate mold, there is no preparation needed when you’re ready to make your lollipops.

Lollipop molds make this process so easy!

lollipop mold
  • Molds are not expensive and not hard to get, so I recommend you invest in one because you can use it over and over again.
  • Lollipop molds on Amazon are the easiest way to get a hold of silicone lollipop molds and they will last you for a very long time.
  • Regardless of where you get your lollipop mold, make sure they have:
  • A specific space for lollipops, as their diameter is for a lollipop
  • Make sure it has a section where your lollipop stick goes.

Parchment paper, optional

If you don’t buy or have a lollipop mug, you can certainly still make lollipops without using parchment paper.

Parchment paper will allow you to make lollipops without getting them stuck on a surface.

Spoon or pipping bag

People have spoons already in the kitchen, so you can use them to pour your chocolate to make your chocolate lollipops.

If you want to get a little fancy buying baking pipette bags will make it easy to pour your chocolate.

Now if you don’t have either of those supplies you can just get a normal Ziploc bag and use that to help you spread your chocolate to make your lollipops.

Lollipop sticks

Purchasing lollipop sticks is the best thing you can do when making lollipops from scratch at home.

You can certainly use shish kebab sticks if you’re trying to save some money, but I would just invest in getting some lollipop sticks.

Usually, when you buy a mold it comes with lollipop sticks, so you can deathly get a two-for-one in that case.

Ingredients

Your choice of Chocolate.

You can make this recipe with all types of chocolate like

  • semi-sweet chocolate
  • vegan chocolate
  • milk chocolate
  • dark chocolate chips
  • and white chocolate chips, depending on your preference.

This recipe is very universal as you can use chocolate disk or chocolate chips from your local grocery store.

I always use these sugar-free chocolate chips, you can’t even tell because they are delicious and as sweet as other chocolate chips are processed.

This ingredient is very flexible because it is your choice on what types of chocolate you want to melt.

You can buy a chocolate bar, chips, or your favorite melts.

Coconut oil

Coconut oil is a great ingredient to use in the kitchen as well as in body care.

You use coconut oil in this recipe to help you melt the chocolate for you to pour into your moles or parchment paper.

You can buy either a solid form, coconut oil, or bite already in liquid form.

chocolate chips and coconut oil

You will place your chocolate with solid coconut oil in a safe bowl like a glass bowl and melt it using a double boiler method.

You do this by placing your chocolate in a glass bowl and placing it on top of a pot filled with an inch of water and melting your chocolate on medium heat.

Melt Chocolate Chips In The Microwave

Another way to get melted chocolate is by using a heatproof bowl in a microwave, but make sure to heat your chocolate in 30-second increments until the chocolate is fully melted making sure that you do not burn it.

After your chocolate is melted take it off your heat source and add it to your bag if you are using one.

Add-ins

This time you can also add anything you want to your chocolate lollipops to add crunch, either by adding crushed almonds, colorful sprinkles, or even peanut butter if you’d like, play around with different colors, flavors, and textures.

Fill molds

Pour your chocolate into your lollipop molds and move very carefully until they’re filled to the top.

Tap your filled lollipop mold carefully on a hard surface to remove any air bubbles.

If you’re not using lollipop mode, then just make sure you place a layer of parchment paper on a plate or pan and pour chocolate in a circular shape spacing them around.

Lollipop stick placement

Carefully place your lollipop sticks in the stick space of the mold.

Turn your lollipop stick 360 degrees to fully incorporate the stick in the chocolate mixture.

If you’re using parchment paper, make sure you put the sticks in the center of the chocolate and turn it slightly to cover it with chocolate.

This is a time to play around with textures and colors by adding topping to your chocolate lollipops.

Add toppings

Add any toppings, or have colored chocolate by cooling your chocolate in the fridge till solid adding your colored chocolate design on top, and cooling it a second time.

You can also use food coloring, add edible glitter, and crush up candy canes for Christmas time.

You can create a multicolored chocolate lollipop and make your own cute creations.

Freeze/cool

filled lollipop molds

If you’re not adding toppings place your mold or parchment paper into the freezer for at least 10 to 15 minutes or until you have solid chocolate.

Place your lollipop, mold, or parchment paper on a flat surface, making sure that they cool evenly.

Remove your lollipops when they are ready to be popped out of the mold or peeled out of their parchment paper after about 10-20 minutes in the freezer.

All you have to do is pop your lollipops out of your mold or slowly peel them off your parchment papers and enjoy.
