Ingredients Needed for Candied Pecans

  • Pecans – Buy a big bag of pecans is the way to go, you will make this recipe again, and again.
  • Maple syrup- I use 100% maple syrup with no added sugar
  • Vanilla extract
  • Cinnamon
  • Himalayan pink salt- Using this type of salt will give your candied pecans a great balance of salty and sweet.
  • Chocolate Chips (Sugar-Free)- You won’t know the difference in taste with sugar-free chocolate chips. My two favorite brands I use for all my chocolate desserts are: Semi-Sweet Baking Chips by Lily’s | Stevia Sweetened, No Added Sugar & Artisan Kettle Organic No Sugar Added Dark Chocolate Chips
  • Coconut Oil- Using this to melt any hard chocolate hasn’t failed me yet!

How to make Stovetop Candied pecans with drizzled chocolate

1.  On medium heat, place pecans, maple syrup, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and 1 good pinch of salt in a saucepan

2.  Stir all ingredients for about 8 minutes or until there is no more maple syrup liquid in the saucepan

3. Place pecans on a plate and spread them out so they can dry out for about 3-5 minutes or until maple syrup isn’t dripping off them

4.  While pecans are drying, place chocolate chips and coconut oil in a cup into a microwave for about 1 minute and stir the chocolate until fully melted

5.   Spread out candied pecans on parchment paper and use a spoon to drizzle melted chocolate over them. Place in freezer for about 2-5 minutes or until chocolate has set on them. (make sure they don’t freeze)

6.  After candied pecans are out of the freezer sprinkle a good pinch of salt over them and enjoy!

Tips for making Stovetop Candied pecans

  • Best storage: Place in a jar or bowl in the fridge to keep them intact.
  • After these candied pecans are done on the stovetop and you place them to dry, try to avoid placing them on parchment paper at first since they might end up sticking to it. (I have done this, and I ended up having parchment paper stick on my pecans)
  • When you are cooking the pecans on the stovetop be sure to consistently stir them until the maple syrup has evaporated, these nuts can burn easily.
