Cauliflower pizza is actually a kid-friendly pizza that your whole family will enjoy. My kids love this type of pizza, so I hope your family enjoys it too. This is very easy to make! Now, let’s make us some homemade pizza crust!
Ingredients & Substitute Ingredients
4 cups of shredded Cauliflower: This is about one whole cauliflower head, so you should be good to go with that. This vegetable contains so many nutrients, one cup of cauliflower has about 61% percent of your daily recommended value of Vitamin C!
This ingredient is healthier than your normal plain all-purpose flour ingredient that most pizza doughs are made out of. Don’t be afraid to use cauliflower in any recipe, you might be surprised how delicious it can be.
2 cups of Pecorino Romano cheese: Unlike parmesan cheese that is made out of cow’s milk, this cheese is made out of sheep’s milk. This cheese brings a lot of flavor to this recipe and it’s a great substitute for parmesan cheese.
I buy this cheese in a block form for a great price at Costco, they always have it in stock in my area and it has become a staple in my household.
- Substitute cheese: You can use 2 cups of Mozzarella cheese instead! I’ve tried both kinds of cheese, and my end pizza crust result was delicious.
2 Eggs: Preferably pasture raised eggs, since they’re more nutritional dense than your normal factory eggs.
According to Cambridge University, pastured raised eggs have twice as much vitamin E, and more omega-3 fatty acids than caged eggs. Of course, any egg will do in this recipe since this ingredient acts as a binding agent and helps everything stick together.
- Spices: 1 tsp BASIL & ½ tsp TYME – These two spices give this pizza dough an amazing flavor!

Cauliflower crust pizza instructions: Better than Milton’s cauliflower pizza
Try to get your family involved to make this cauliflower pizza crust!
- Start by cutting a whole cauliflower head in half or fourths & preheat your oven to 400 Degrees.
- Take your big cauliflower cuts and start grating it or out-put them in a food processor for quick grating. (My big kids love grating it by hand)
- Take half of your grated cauliflower into a big saucepan. Do not put anything in the pan and go ahead and place the cauliflower into the pan to dry it up a little.
- Keep stirring cauliflower for about 5 minutes or until you see some of it trying to stick on the pan.
- We don’t want it all to stick, we just want it to dry it up a little. Remember it won’t be completely dry, so it will still be a little damp. After your done with one half, then do the other half.
- Place all the cauliflower on a plate to cool a bit, we don’t want it to be too hot when we start the mixing part. Let it cool for about 3-5 minutes, (this is a great time to clean up the kitchen a little bit). As long as it isn’t hot to touch you should be good to go!
- After the cauliflower has cooled a little add already mixed eggs, cheese, spices and mix it all together to start forming the dough. (My toddler loves doing this part!)
- Place the dough onto parchment paper that’s on a big baking sheet pan and start spreading/shaping.
- I try to shape my crust, not too thick or thin, at last, ½ inch or so. This will be a big size crust so make sure you have a good size sheet pan.
- Bake crust at 400 degrees for 20-25 minutes.
- When done, have the cauliflower pizza crust cool a little before you place it on a new sheet of parchment paper to start making you pizza of your choice
